Scarvagh House Stud

Established in 1993 by Alfred Buller, the stud has grown from 4-6 staff and 80 mares to its current position where there are now 80-90 people employed and over 1200 mares covered in 2006 by the 16 stallions now on the roster. As one of Europe's leading dual-purpose studs, they needed a website that reflected that position and provided a large amount of information on their stallions.

The primary challenge was to present large amounts of highly details facts and statistics on each stallion whilst keeping it readable and easy to use. We achieved this by means of a simple, elegant layout backed by a sophisticated rendering system that can dynamically format elements such as pedigree analysis and progeny performance to racing industry standards.

We worked closely with Scarvagh House marketing manager, Russell Ferris, to achieve this.

Russell said, "Having been recommended Hardlight by a friend I went onto their site and was very pleased with their portfolio. On completion of the site I am absolutely delighted with the final outcome and, although I may be a little biased, I think its their best to date. The design aspect of the site is top class and I find it so easy to navigate which for our client base is essential. Our business is dependent on up-to-date news and this site has allowed me so much freedom to enable current and potenatial new clients the opportunity to view the daily happenings - In conclusion the scarvagh.com site is efficient, stylish and user friendly and I am very grateful for the hard work and time Hardlight have put into the job. The feedback I received during the building of the site was second to none."
