HorsePlay.ie is a stand alone website owned and operated by Halcyon Days Ltd, the Dublin based equine marketing consultancy. The concept was to create an online equine marketplace for Ireland, the United Kingdom and further a field.
Registered users can place ads in various categories and sub-categories, most of which are completely free. The user then has the option of upgrading their ads with photos, highlight colours and priority listings at a nominal charge. Payments are made through the secure WorldPay gateway.
The site has been designed for ease of navigation, allowing visitors to browse ads by category and sub-category and text search. Previously viewed ads are recorded and used to suggest other items for sale - these can even be targeted to the visitor's area if it is known.
The very high level of user interactivity a site like this requires presented many challenges. We feel we met these challenges, resulting in a site that can expand and grow with the client over the coming years.
